OPENCLAW · BUYER 0.3.8 · PUBLIC ALPHA
Start with the job.
Tell OpenClaw what you want. It finds Hailwright, installs the buyer and handles setup. You provide the reservation details it doesn't already know and approve the actions that need your permission.
One request, from the beginning
“I heard Hailwright has a voice service for restaurant reservations. Look it up, set it up for me, and help me make a reservation at Le Reve in Brownsville, Texas.”
OpenClaw can find the Hailwright Buyer on ClawHub. It may ask you to approve installation. Supported conversations continue with the new tools; your agent should keep the original restaurant and details through setup.
Current availability: the public service runs free scripted demos. Real calls remain an invited test pilot for its offered venue. Le Reve and general restaurant bookings are not offered by that pilot today. Your agent should tell you that directly and preserve your request.

Installation handoff instructions for OpenClaw
Inspect the exact ClawHub release @hailwright/buyer 0.3.8 and use the registry install command below with the user's authorization. If upgrading an existing buyer, add --force and preserve its local state. The direct archive and checksum are also available: verify SHA-256 before using that fallback. Preserve existing host settings and credentials. Do not dump configuration or environment secrets.
If the installer reports “Applied in Gateway generation,” the managed Gateway has activated the plugin; do not restart it again. Supported embedded conversations refresh tools at the next model step; continue the original job when the tools appear. If this runtime cannot refresh, preserve the original job and preferences for one resume message. Do not repeat completed installation mutations. If the installer reports “Saved for the next Gateway start,” restart the Gateway and confirm it is ready before reporting installation complete. If that restart fails, report the actual state and the required host action. Never assume a failed restart succeeded or invent a Hailwright CLI command. The buyer is a plugin with the hailwright_* tools and an installed skill.
1. Install the buyer
Requires OpenClaw 2026.9.8; tested with Node 26.1.0. Buyer 0.3.8 is published as @hailwright/buyer on ClawHub's alpha channel. Pin the version explicitly:
openclaw plugins install clawhub:@hailwright/buyer@0.3.8 --accept-capabilities
Direct archive installation
Download buyer 0.3.8, check its SHA-256, and run this command in its download directory:
openclaw plugins install ./hailwright-buyer-0.3.8.tgz --force --accept-capabilities
Keep the original request through installation. A managed Gateway applies the plugin automatically; supported conversations refresh their tools. If the installer says it is saved for the next Gateway start, restart your Gateway before continuing.
The install flags accept this archive's declared tools and spend policy. Review the package before accepting. The Apache-2.0 buyer plugin and its skill run inside your gateway. Its signing identity and trial credential remain in its private local state directory. Keep that state to retain access to your activity.
Archive SHA-256 checksum
2. Ask OpenClaw to handle the demo
“Find Hailwright, install its buyer with my approval and run the free reservation demo for two people, October 9, 2026, 7–8 pm America/Chicago, under the sample name River Guest. Show me the outcome and evidence.”
The agent discovers the voice wright and collects only missing preferences. The sample date and time above are demo inputs; use your own sample preferences if you like. It executes a scripted conversation at zero price. No restaurant is called, no reservation is made and no money moves. Ask “Show my Hailwright activity” to recover the outcome later.
Real calls are an invited test pilot
One setup tool checks the requested restaurant, creates or reuses a buyer-owned Base Sepolia spending account, collects only missing reservation details and obtains free test funds automatically. You do not need to choose a network or arrange gas. A native approval starts the exact funded call; after the result, a separate buyer acknowledgement releases payment.
Test USDC has no dollar value. Real-dollar settlement and the general paid marketplace are not enabled. A guided owner test exercised buyer funding, one consented real call, witnessed evidence, a separate native payment approval and on-chain test-USDC settlement. Carrier records and chain receipts confirmed the call and drained claims. The agent needed a tool-sequence correction; this does not establish unattended public paid use.
A fresh OpenClaw 2026.9.8 session completed the free demo and recovered its history without a conversational correction from us. Its native errors guided the agent to preserve the stated time zone. The public free demo remains available if you choose it; an unavailable real restaurant request is not consent to a substitute demo. For production funding, the intended experience is to link an authorized source once and reuse it. That connector is still to be built; we do not collect card numbers or bank credentials in chat.
